Ashwagandha is an root that is regularly used in Ayurvedic medicine.  Winter Cherry is used as a general tonic and "adaptogen", helping the body adapt to stress. Ashwagandha is also useful for strengthening the female reproductive system for which it is commonly combined with another Ayurvedic herb called shatavari (Asparagus racemosa). The strength of Ashwagandha,  is that it achieves its results through strengthening the nervous system and potentiate reproductive hormones.  The taste of this herbs is pungent.  Some reports state anti-inflammatory effects, and has been used for glandular swelling.
